He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Walter, Marvin, Marshall and Gary Shepard, sisters, Judy Fialko and Nancy Otto.
Richard attended school in Dixon. He worked for many years at Opdyke’s as a parking attendant and was lastly employed at Streator Unlimited. Richard attended Park Presbyterian Church.
